Aged Care Assessment Teams Federal Depart of Social Services
Aged Care Crisis - information and patient rights
Alzheimer's Australia (Qld) - information, support and education. Their aim is to extend the knowledge and skills of others working with people with dementia, their families and carers.
Carers Australia- counselling, advice, advocacy, education and training for carers.
Council of the Ageing Queensland - information on issues such as housing options ; home and community services; financial and legal issues; health and wellbeing; retirement; and learning opportunities.
Guardianship Information Services - assisting Guardians in the process of deciding what they should do to assist the person with a disability
Queensland Aged and Disability Advocacy (QADA) Inc. - advocacy for people who are receiving an Australian Government subsidised aged care service. QADA also has a legal service to support adults with guardianship and administration matters.
Office for Seniors - information on services, partners and more for older people; Information for people with a disability including children and young people with a disability; information on services, agencies and more for carers.
Disability Works Australia - facilitates the provision by large employers and government of employment for people with a disability.
Queensland Advocacy Incorporated (QAI) - free legal service where legal problem relate to the client's mental illness (A division of NSW Legal Aid).
Aged Care Complaints Scheme - investigates concerns about any Australian Government subsidised aged care service.
Health Quality and Complaints Commission - investigates concerns about health service or health privacy.
www.myagedcare.gov.au - Australian Government single point of access to Government and non-Government information and services for older (over 50!) Australians.
Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland - help resolve complaints about discrimination, sexual harassment and racial and religious vilification.
Basic Rights Queensland and Disability Discrimination Legal Service (FNQ) - help people with disability to use disability discrimination laws.
